The Rochester city schools combined to form East United. With the changes and combinations, there were thirty-five teams and 942 players. Fairport carried the largest roster with forty players and Batavia had the smallest with sixteen. |

In Class C, #2 Wayne will play #1 Geneva. The games will be played at St. John Fisher College on Tuesday, May 29th with the Class C game at 5:00 and the Class A game at 7:30. |
# 1419 Wayne Advances to the Finals for First Time in Program History Sophomore John Reagan scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to give second seeded Wayne the 11-10 win over third seeded HFL. The Cougars took over the game early scoring five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter. Garrett Ruff scored two early goals for the Cougars to set the pace. He scored with a single dodge with 7:37 remaining and off a behind the back goal (assisted by Josh Barski) with 3:13 remaining. Junior Andrew Mapstone scored two of his own in the run. |
# 1403 Week in Review: Week 7 It is hard to imagine, but we are entering the final week of regular season games. The last games will be played on Friday and the tournaments will begin on May 21st. Two hundred and forty-seven games have been played thus far. Sixty-four (of seventy-three out of Section games scheduled) have been played. Section five teams have won forty-five (70%). # 1390 HFL Comes Back in Fourth Quarter for Win HFL and Hilton played a close game tonight with the Cougars winning 8-6. HFL opened up with the first goal less than one minute into play. Jonathan Roth scored with a single player drive down the left side to give the Cougars and early 1-0 lead. Two minutes later and Hilton responded. Justin Mosher drove at the cage and instead of taking a shot, he passed off to Jordan DePetres behind the cage. DePetres was already moving and came around the goal line to finish into the back of the net. |

Penn Yan scored their winning goal in the last quater as they defeated Westhill (Section 3) 5-4. Senior midfielder Austin Blumbergs led the Mustangs with four goals and sophomore goalie Jeff Kinyon made twelve saves (75%). Thomas used a goal in the last five minutes of the game to defeat Fairport 11-10 and Patrick Shanley scored an unassisted goal in the second overtime period to give Gananda the 9-8 win at Geneva. |
# 1358 Penn Yan Wins in Double OT SATURDAY: DAY IN REVIEW: Although the forecast called for an ice storm throughout the day, nine games were able to be completed on a very cold day. Penn Yan won in double overtime with a goal by Colton Smith. Gananda won an exciting 11-10 victory over Pal-Mac as the combination of seniors Brett Cunningham and Henry Bush combined for seven goals which proved to be the difference. Spencerport and Schroeder had two ties before the Warriors scored two goals in the last quarter for a 6-4 win. |
# 1349 CA takes Pittsford for their 2nd OT win TUESDAY: DAY IN REVIEW: Senior midfielder Alex Burley came up big for Canandaigua, scoring the tying and winning goals to give the Braves a 7-6 win at Pittsford that saw six ties. In what can only be described as surprising, Hilton scored eight unanswered goals in the first and second periods only to give up eight goals and the 11-10 win to Penfield. Max Hoadley scored the winning goal for the Patriots with 0:02 left in regulation. Gates Chili found themselves tied with Brockport early in the third quarter and after scoring two in a row, held off a last charge by the Blue Devils to take the 6-5 win. |
# 1325 Cornell University Gets Garrett Ruff Honeoye Falls-Lima senior midfielder, Garrett Ruff, made his commitment finalized with the signing of his National Letter of Intent to continue his studies and play lacrosse at Cornell University next fall. |
# 1285 All Greater Rochester 2017 The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team today. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by Canandaigua senior Attackman, Devin Andrews who was named "Player of the Year". Andrews, who was also a US Lacrosse All-American, scored 72 goals and 47 assists this year. The SportsFive Offensive Player of the Year plans to study and play at Stony Brook next year. |

# 1256 Pal-Mac Wins First Sectional Title Pal-Mac won their first even Section Five Championship with a 16-11 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima. The Red Raiders lead for nearly the entire game. The Cougars took an early lead; however, Pal-Mac took over late in the first quarter and slowly increased their lead for the remaining three quarters. At the largest difference, the Red Raiders led by eight. In addition to the boys, Pal-Mac girls also won the Section Five Championship with a 16-5 win over Penn Yan (HERE). |

# 1228 Saturday: Thomas Over Hamburg Webster Thomas played a close one with Hamburg (Section VI). The Titans led 5-3 at the half and the teams traded goals in the second half. Brad Smith and Nick Mabe each had 2g-2a for Thomas. Fairport (11-3) travelled south to beat Corning (12-4) of Section IV with TJ Hendricks (1g-2a) and Jake Bucci (2g-1a) leading the Red Raider offense. |

Connor Kennan scored with an assist from Sam Lambert to give Victor a 5-4 win at home this morning. Although the Blue Devils took an early lead, scoring the first three goals, Loyola Academy returned to tie the game at 4-4 in the third quarter. # 767 HF-L Over Livonia in a Close One HF-L scored the final three goals to defeat Livonia 6-5. This was the first contest between Livonia and HF-L. The game had four lead changes and was tied at 1, 2, 3, and 5. With the win, HF-L snapped their five game losing streak and improved their record to 3-5. # 668 Monroe County Releases D-2 Awards for 2015 The All Star list is out recognizing the Monroe County League players for the 2015 season. Senior midfielder Kevin Hill (Thomas), attackman, Connor Hulme (Canandaigua) and Long Stick Defenseman Allen Thibodeau (Fairport) were named US Lacrosse Academic All Americans. Senior midfielder Brandon Barker (Pittsford) along with senior attackman Max Spaan (Penfield) and senior goalie Willie Klan (Penfield) selected as US Lacrosse All Americans. Juniors Jared Conners(Pittsford-LSM), T.D. Ierlan (Victor mid/fo) and Jamie Trimboli (Victor - mid) were also named as US Lacrosse All Americans. |
# 592 HF-L Takes Irondequoit 9-8 Sophomore midfielder Garrett Ruff scored the final four goals for HF-L to give them a 9=8 victory and their first win over Irondequoit in program history. The Eagles led for nearly the entire game before Ruff brought them on top with 7:53 remaining in the game. Although both teams had chances in the final minutes, the Cougars were able to hold off any additional scoring for Irondequoit. |
# 538 Churchville-Chili 16 - HF-L 13 Churchville-Chili scored three of the last four to secure the 16-13 win over HF-L and at 8-0 remains one of only four undefeated teams left in the section. The Saints played strong in the beginning and end of the game but, in what has become a pattern, they could not pull away from their opponents and allowed HF-L to stay in the game well into the second half. The Cougars led going into the second half before Churchville-Chili outscored them 7-3 in the second 24 minutes. |
# 504 Cougars Beat Spencerport HF-L took the lead in the second quarter and never trailed again in their 15-12 win over Spencerport. This is the first loss for Spencerport in the last seven games. The game was back and forth in the first quarter and even though the Cougars kept the lead for three quarters, the game was close throughout. |

A varsity player for the Cougars since his freshman year, Garrett added 35g-21a last year to his 56g-36a two year totals. |
